Bridges
Bridges is an animated film and musical composition by Ed Carter. The work was commissioned by Sage Gateshead
as part of the Great Exhibition of the North.
Description
I oversaw the creation of this commission on behalf of Sage Gateshead, working alongside artist Ed Carter. This work featured as part of Sage Gateshead’s ambition to increase family engagement and provided the content for a full summer programme.
It is a magical tale following the journey of a man, a dog and their small fishing boat on the River Tyne. The characters overcome a series of musical challenges as they navigate the waters and the seven bridges of the Tyne. The work features animation created by NOVAK collective
and a music score recorded by the Royal Northern Sinfonia Orchestra.
