The Artemis Lab transformed the magical Dilston Physic Garden
in Corbridge, Northumberland for a family event with a difference.
Description
The Artemis Lab designed a sensory performance event inspired by the science of plants that improve memory. This overgrown garden, brimming with plants, herbs, medicine and magic was the perfect setting for The Artemis Lab's experiential event.
We animated the garden for families with garden characters that embodied different plants that have been scientifically shown to improve memory.
Our characters, Ace the Gardener, Nigella Sativa, Salvia Sage and Wally Walnut helped audiences understand more about the memory boosting chemicals in plants and how to make use of them; through inhalation, tea infusion, in cooking and more.
Families had fun exploring the garden and encountering each character to learn more about plants such as Lemonbalm, Sage, and Nigella. The event was designed as a performance piece that integrated the sensory mediums of taste, touch, sound and aroma.
